Latest Comissioned Piece

My most commonly requested style to work in for comissioned pieces is the illustrated one I'd developed while working on Black Chamber a few months back (although I've got a few for paintings now, as well). Normally they're pretty easy and straight-forward.

This one was a little tougher, though.

See, this boy here grew up into someone suffering badly from schizophrenia and eventually killed himself. I was asked to do this for the client to give to their aunt, the mother of the subject. I was asked to not just do it straight-forward, but to be a little more creative. Obviously, a great amount of care had to go into this. I really couldn't do anything psychedelic or play around with the colors too much, because of what eventually became of the boy.

It was also tough to work on, because my two step-brothers from my dad's second marriage killed themselves. I really put a lot of thought and care into this, because it very quickly became very personal for me.

But, I'm very happy with how it turned out, and I'm sure that his mother will appreciate it, and hopefully it will bring up the good memories of him. It did for me.
